Research Student Milestones
Follow these key steps to keep your research on track from Day 1 to graduation.
Meet Your Supervisors
After registration, meeting your supervisory team is critical. They are your primary guides throughout your entire study period.
Execute Your Research Plan
You and your supervisory team will carry out research based on your approved research plan. Stay aligned and communicate regularly.
Maintain Active Status
Register at the beginning of each semester and ensure your active status is maintained in the system throughout your study period.
Research Proposal Defense (RPD)
Within the allocated time, submit your report to your faculty to fulfil the RPD requirement and get your research officially underway.
Submit Progress Reports
Submit your progress report at the end of every semester. Your supervisor will complete an online progress evaluation on your work.
Publish Journal Papers
Publishing indexed journal articles is a compulsory graduation requirement and an excellent professional practice for your career ahead.
Thesis Preparation & Submission
Familiarise yourself with thesis guidelines, consult your supervisor, and submit through Turnitin. Always check your originality report.
Oral Examination (Viva Voce)
Undergo your oral examination to defend your research findings. If you need more time, you are responsible to apply for a study extension.
Every postgraduate student must fulfil all of the following requirements to graduate:
- ✓ Pass all required courses for your registered programme.
- ✓ Carry out all necessary research work at the University or Industry to the required quality.
- ✓ Submit and pass the Master Project (Taught Course), Dissertation (Mixed Mode), or Project Paper (MBA).
- ✓ Submit thesis and pass the Viva Voce for Master by Research or Doctoral programme.

Scopus / WOSPhD Degree
Journal papers indexed by Scopus or ISI-Web of Science
Scopus / WOSIndustrial PhD
