The programme is meant to equip the students with content design alongside software development skills that can be applied especially in apps development.     Institute of Technology Management and Entrepreneurship (IPTK) offers two taught course programmes:

    •  Master of Engineering Business Management (MIEM)
    • Master of Business Information Management (MIIM)

     

    Programme Structure


    Master of Engineering Business Management (MIEM)


     

    The integration of business management and technology is one of the important pillars for developing the industrial operation, which is the key driver for the achievement of competitive advantage. Therefore, MIEM has been designed as a hybrid program that offers essential management and business skills in technology and operations. The MIEM program is implemented in modular mode, whereby modules are taken sequentially. A total of 40 credits is required for graduation, comprising 10 taught modules of 3 credits each and 2 master projects worth 10 credits.

    Entry Requirements

     

    • A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 as accepted by UTeM Senate; OR

    • A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting CGPA of 2.50 can be accepted, subject to a rigorous internal assessment ; OR

    • A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in non-related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 as accepted by the HEP Senate and with relevant working experience, subject to a rigorous internal assessment ; OR

    • A Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) in non-related fields with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 as accepted by the HEP Senate and without relevant working experience, subject to passing pre-requisite courses ; OR

    • Other equivalent/related qualifications to a Bachelor’s degree (Level 6, MQF) recognized by the Malaysian Government.

  • Rules


    - A single static PowerPoint slide is permitted. No slide transitions, animations or ‘movement’ of any description are allowed. The slides is to be presented from the beginning of the oration.

    - No additional electronic media are permitted (e.g. sound and video files).

    - No additional props are permitted (e.g. costumes, musical instruments, laboratory equipment).

    - Presentations are limited to 3 minutes maximum and competitors exceeding 3 minutes are disqualified.

    - Presentations are to be spoken word (e.g. no poems, raps or songs).

    - Presentations are to commence from the stage.

    - Presentations are considered to have commenced when a presenter starts their presentation through either movement or speech.

    - The decision of the adjudicating panel is final.

    Eligibility


    - Active Master and PhD students in UTeM.

    - Candidates who have successfully passed their confirmation milestone (including candidates whose thesis is under submission) by the date of their first presentation are eligible to participate in 3MT competitions at all levels, including the Asia-Pacific 3MT competition.
